The service we can provide in the field of carbon capture and storage derives from our expertise in a number of related areas - we have long been involved in the offshore oil and gas sector, advising on the development of projects under the plethora of applicable laws and international conventions; more recently we have grown our energy team to pick up on the new fields of Kyoto mechanisms, carbon trading and renewable energy development and financing. We are currently advising on a wide range of carbon and climate change projects. These range from acting for IFC on a US$100m+ loan to one of the world’s largest CDM project developer to the establishment of carbon funds for Climate Change Capital. We act for a number of UK and European utilities on their carbon trading activities such as Drax and Nuon.
