Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS)

This partnership between the British Geological Survey, Heriot-Watt University, the University of Aberdeen, the University of Edinburgh and the University of Strathclyde is a centre of excellence for research and development in carbon capture and storage. With over 230 academics and researchers, SCCS provides world-class research and expertise across the full CCS value chain, including petroleum and hydrocarbon geoscience based on geology, geophysics, geo-engineering, subsurface fluid flow and capture technology. The centre comprises state-of-the-art experimental and analytical facilities, expertise in field studies and a wide range of computational modelling capabilities.
