Tees Valley Unlimited
Tees Valley Unlimited is the Local Enterprise Partnership covering Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton, Hartlepool, Darlington, and Middlesbrough. Our public-private partnership co-ordinates activities which aim to create a high value low carbon economy, and an inclusive and diverse economy.
Tees Valley is home to one of the largest process and steel clusters in the UK, centred around Wilton, Billingham and Seal Sands. This industry contributes over £10bn to the UK economy, employs over 25,000, but emits approximately 20Mte of CO2 per year.
Tees Valley Unlimited is working with industry, NEPIC, the Process Industry Carbon Capture and Storage Initiative www.piccsi.co.uk, and a potential CCS demonstration project to progress an industrial CCS network within Tees Valley. This project has the potential to lower industrial emissions, enhance the competitiveness of key industries, and develop a competitive location to invest in new plants.
