Carbon capture, usage and storage to take centre stage in the days before COP26

6th September 2021, London – With 55 days to go until COP26, the attention of policymakers, industry, campaigners and communities is focusing ever more sharply on tackling our shared environmental challenges.

Carbon capture, usage and storage (CCUS) is recognised as having a vital part to play in achieving net zero.  The development of CCUS in the UK continues at pace; the last year has seen continuing innovation, the emergence of new business models and projects readying themselves for delivery. At the same time, the UK Government has set out the process to enable the first CCUS clusters to be operating by the middle of this decade, creating thousands of jobs as part of the levelling up and just transition agendas. All of this activity is part of a global CCUS sector which is entering an exciting period of development and growth.

The Carbon Capture and Storage Association’s flagship conference CCUS 2021: Leading on net zero and clean growth will take place online from Tuesday 12th – Thursday 14th October. CCUS 2021 is the meeting place for anyone involved in carbon capture, usage and storage; across industry, power, hydrogen, utilisation and greenhouse gas removal. Delegates can book tickets at https://whova.com/web/ccus_202110.
