The CCSA is organising “The ‘U’ in CCUS: Accelerating CCU to achieve net-zero” webinar on 19th March 2025, 16:00-16:45 CET.
The CCSA is publishing a Position Paper on CCU’s role in the UK’s CCUS framework, outlining a technical overview of different CCU technologies and their abatement potential while also highlighting key policy recommendations that are needed to accelerate its deployment, including the need for a bespoke financing mechanism, a clear definition of CCU within the broader CCUS framework, market mechanisms to support low-carbon products, solutions for non-pipeline CO₂ transport, and a government-endorsed approach to life-cycle analysis.
The webinar aims at exploring the role of CCU within the wider CCUS framework in the EU and the UK, while identifying the key policy incentives needed to accelerate its deployment.
