Political Engagement

As the voice of the CCUS industry and our members, the CCSA ensures that their interests are represented where political decisions are made.

Through sustained engagement with political stakeholders, institutions and NGOs, we help ensure CCUS remains high on the political agenda.

We work to keep our members at the forefront of policy discussions that impact their work, their industries, and their communities.

Political Engagement

How we do this

Through our political engagement efforts, we:

  • Advocate on behalf of members at the EU, UK and Member States level, hosting roundtables, site visits and 1-2-1 meetings
  • Build relationships with policymakers to advance CCUS deployment, utilising evidence-based resources designed to support informed decision-making and raise the profile of CCUS among key stakeholders
  • Mobilise collective action, giving members the opportunity to directly influence policy through campaigns, briefings and events
  • Provide policy insights, keeping members informed about legislative developments and regulatory changes
  • Represent the sector in key political forums, such as co-chairing the UK Government’s CCUS Council with the Minister of State at the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, and the European Energy Forum (EU).

Media Engagement

The CCSA represents members not only in political spaces but also in the public conversation. We engage with media outlets to amplify why CCUS is vital to meeting climate targets.

Our media engagement includes:

  • Proactive storytelling that brings to life CCUS deployment
  • Media representation on behalf of members to ensure industry priorities are heard widely and accurately
  • Strategic partnerships with press and digital platforms to strengthen the reach of our collective voice.

By engaging strategically with the media, we elevate member voices and make sure their stories resonate with the public and decision-makers alike.

Campaigns

Campaigns are where CCSA’s political and media engagement comes together. We design and lead campaigns that mobilize our members, influence policymakers and engage the public around the issues that matter most.

Our campaigns:

  • Unify industry voices into powerful, coordinated action
  • Drive visibility through media coverage, social platforms, and community outreach
  • Deliver impact by shifting public and political narratives

CCSA campaigns turn industry priorities into tangible change.
