CCSA responds to changes to Judicial Review

“Planning reform for low-carbon infrastructure is essential if the UK is to deliver the carbon capture and storage projects needed to strengthen energy security, support industrial competitiveness, and safeguard jobs. We support reforms that streamline the planning process for nationally significant infrastructure, while ensuring robust scrutiny of applications and meaningful opportunities for local communities to have their voices heard. While Judicial review will continue to be an important safeguard providing a route for communities to be heard, it is important that it is not used in a way that leads to unnecessary or prolonged delays for projects.”
