“We welcome the Energy Secretary’s commitment to deliver energy security and clean power. Instability in the Middle East underlines why the UK must strengthen its supply of home‑grown energy. Renewables will form the backbone of our system, complemented by low-carbon dispatchable generation which provides the dependable, flexible power that keeps the country running and reduces overall system costs when renewables dip.
To deliver projects at pace, the UK Government must provide policy and regulatory certainty for investors, alongside a planning system that does not slow critical energy infrastructure. Investor certainty and stable policy will unlock further investment, protect industrial heartland jobs and deliver reliable clean power around the clock.”
