Headquartered in Belgium, Fluxys is a fully independent infrastructure group with 1 500 employees active in gas transmission & storage and liquefied natural gas terminalling. Through its associated companies across the world, Fluxys operates 28,000 kilometres of pipeline and liquefied natural gas terminals totalling a yearly regasification capacity of 485 TWh.

In its CO₂ infrastructure business line Fluxys is developing in Belgium a transmission backbone earmarked to become a hub for industries in north-western Europe to bring their CO2 to storage in the North Sea. Fluxys is also involved with partners in projects envisaging offshore CO2 pipeline transmission for storage in the Norwegian and British North Sea waters. Projects with partners for marine CO2 export terminals in Belgium and France are in the company’s portfolio as well. In Germany Fluxys is partner in infrastructure operator Open Grid Europe, which has advanced plans to develop a CO2 network in the country.
