The 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference, more commonly referred to as COP27, will be the 27th United Nations Climate Change conference, to be held from 6 to 18 November 2022 in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.

The Carbon Capture and Storage Association is a registered Business NGO at COP27 and is involved in a number of activities in partnership with other organisations:

SSE/Scottish Government “Achieving a Just Transition: Decarbonising Industrial Heartlands”

This event will consider the role of technologies such as CCS and hydrogen in delivering a just transition for workers in high carbon industries. The panel will discuss lessons from Scotland, where a coalition of communities, industries and businesses aim to substantially reduce emissions from heavy industry and power generation by storing CO2 in depleted North Sea gas reservoirs.
