Scottish Carbon Capture & Storage (SCCS) is a partnership between the British Geological Survey, Heriot-Watt University, the University of Aberdeen, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde. It is a centre of excellence for research and development in carbon capture and storage, with researchers and professional staff providing world-class research and expertise across the full CCS value chain – including BECCS, DACCS, hydrogen and CO₂ utilisation – from capture engineering and geoscience to law, policy, public engagement and dissemination. The partnership comprises state-of-the-art experimental and analytical facilities, expertise in field studies and a wide range of computational modelling capabilities.
